How to get teens into programming

Abstract

To get teens to program, you need to help them build a project that they are passionate about. I’ve organized multiple Girls’ Days and guided many programming internships.

Based on this experience I will share my open source recipes to spark an interest in teenagers for pursuing a software career. At the core of my latest internship program are tools like the hour of code, codeacademy and PhaserJS.

I will present two projects. Both have successfully introduced programming into the future job prospects of teenagers. You can take all the required resources home with you, as I will share links to my blog posts and all the repositories on GitHub.
